App version: Seeneva, 0.1.2

Comic book file description

  • Type: CBZ
  • Images formats: WebP
  • Has subfolders: yes
  • Link: Optionally but it can help a lot . Please provide a link to a page that cannot be viewed using the app. Or to a whole comic book file if it cannot be added at all.

Detail

I have converted my whole Comic Book collection to new CBZ files which are containing WebP graphics - and no longer JPG graphics.
The main advantage is that these new CBZ files with WebP take up a lot less storage space compared to CBZ consisting of only JPGs.

The issue now is that Seeneva is displaying these new CBZs with WebP graphics in them only in black-and-white color. But all Seeneva functions like Bubble Zoom, etc. work fine also with the WebPs.

This is a strange behaviour. Because normally, Comic Readers either accept WebP in full. Or they do not open a CBZ file with WebP in it at all. I have never experienced that they are opened only in b/w.

For comparison, i have opened a normal (and larger) CBZ file with JPGs in it. And this file is displayed in color and works just fine.

=> So there is already a "somewhat compatibility for WebP built into current Seeneva. Unfortunately, it displays the WebPs only in b/w and not in color.
