On selecting a different month and selecting a new date, on returning to original month, the date changes to new date even if it is disabled

So, if I have only dates till 04/20/2018 enabled and then I change date to 02/25/2018 using the month picker and not by just using left-right arrows. Then, On returning back to April using month picker, I see 04/25/2018 picked even though it was disabled. I understand that changing date based on date selected in another month is desirable, but it should not happen if the date is disabled. In such a case, I would expect the last enabled day to get selected or probably 1st day of the last enabled month. Is there a workaround for this ?
